Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Program for Adult Women
Canopy Cove is a private, residential Eating Disorder Treatment Center with 25 years’ experience helping others overcome Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorders, and other associated eating disorders. We’re recognized as a leader in Eating Disorder Treatment and are known for providing top quality and compassionate care. We are a licensed Rehabilitative Provider accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
As one of the most experienced Eating Disorder Centers in the nation, we’ve developed a highly effective program that incorporates solid evidence-based therapies which have been shown to increase recovery rates.
Full Recovery from an Eating Disorder is Possible
Our program is based on The Recovery Model, which identifies the eating disorder as a symptom of deeper, unresolved issues. We assist clients in identifying and resolving the underlying causes of the eating disorder as well as developing a more balanced relationship with food. The Recovery Model is more than behavioral change; it encompasses personal growth and life management skills that equip the client to live free from an Eating Disorder.
We increase recovery rates by taking a Comprehensive Approach.
A Comprehensive approach means we address all contributing issues such as dual-diagnosis and family issues.
Dual Diagnosis: It is our experience that a high number of people who receive treatment for an eating disorder also are dealing with a second diagnosis such as Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Self-harm, or Anxiety.
Often, the second diagnosis is uncovered in the course of treatment. Because these conditions can impact the recovery process, Canopy Cove Treatment Center prioritizes early identification of co-occurring disorders; We simultaneously treat dual diagnosis to provide the most effective treatment. We also offer a fully developed treatment track for those dealing with an Eating Disorder and Diabetes or “Diabulimia”.
Family Issues: We know that the individual who comes to Canopy Cove is not the only one affected by the disorder. Very often other family members have been impacted. This is why our treatment is comprehensive and includes family education and weekly family therapy. Our family therapists interact with the clients as well as family members, facilitating an understanding of eating disorders and focusing on topics such as communication, conflict resolution, anger management, and restoring broken relationships. For out of town family members we offer tele-conference calls.
A Customized Treatment Program:
Each person we treat is unique and deserves a customized approach tailored to their specific needs. As part of the admission process, each client has a detailed evaluation by the members of our multi-disciplinary eating disorder team. The assessments are reviewed with our entire clinical staff and used in developing a customized treatment plan. This close collaboration among the medical, clinical and support staff has proven highly effective in providing the most effective treatment. Our treatment team includes:
